Services at St Alfege and Times of Opening
Information about the weekly services can be found outside the west door (the end furthest from the road, under the tower). Normally, our services are as follows:
Sundays
8.00am: Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)
10.00am: Sung Eucharist (liturgy is Common Worship, Order 1 traditional language)
Ugandan Service - Sundays
4.00pm: 12th May, 9th June, 14th July, 11th August, 8th September, 13th October, 10th November and 8th December
Last Sunday in the month
6.30pm: Choral Evensong (Book of Common Prayer)
Weekdays
Tuesday: 5.00pm Evening Prayer
Wednesday: 5.00pm Evening Prayer
Thursday: 8.00am Holy Communion; 5.00pm Evening Prayer
Saturday: 9.30am Morning Prayer
In August there is only one service a week, on Sundays at 10.00am.
The programme of services may alter sometimes, e.g. at Christmas and other Festivals.
Visitors are welcome to come in quietly during Sunday services. Please see Visitor Information.
The Church Office is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.00am to 4.00pm.
Saturdays
From 10am to 11am we hold Vestry hour when the clergy sees couples who plan to marry at St Alfege, and parents who wish their child/children to be baptised. You can make an appointment with one of the clergy outside Vestry Hour by calling direct.
