Sunday School > Other activities

[Face-painting at the midsummer fete]

Our activities are not confined to Sunday mornings. We also have a wide range of activities during the year.

We hold workshops once a term, usually on a Saturday, to which the children can come along with their Mums and Dads and friends and make decorations for use in the Children's chapel at the major festivals - Christmas, Easter and Harvest. We also include cooking which is always popular, both with the children and at coffee after Church the following day!

We prepare presentations involving all the children during the 9.30am Service at some of the Festivals, for example Mothering Sunday, Harvest and Christmas. These provide an opportunity for the Sunday School to show the congregation what we have been doing throughout the year. The Christmas play is a dramatic event in the Church calendar which should never be missed! Any child who wants to take part can do so, and it can lead to very imaginative use of the Church. Children's services are held twice a year - one on Good Friday, and one on Christmas Eve.

We also arrange a number of social events which over the years have included parties, rambles, outings to the beach, a farm, castles, and the pantomime.
