Make a donation to St Alfege Church

The Hawksmoor church of St Alfege, Greenwich, is a Grade I Listed building nearly 300 years old. In the UK, unlike in some other countries (such as France), the State does not help to maintain churches: the churches have to meet their own costs, somehow. It costs more than £1,000 a week to keep this church open for worship and pilgrimage.

Please consider making a donation to the work and upkeep of St Alfege, perhaps in the name of a loved one or to mark a happy anniversary. We count on your donations to help keep St Alfege Church open for others.

You can make a donation by either following the link to our e-fundraising account at the Charities Aid Foundation on-line (see also at the top right of this page);

or by sending a cheque (made out to "St Alfege PCC")
to The Treasurer, St Alfege Church, Greenwich Church Street, Greenwich, London SE10 9BQ, UK . If you pay UK income tax, the value to the church of your donation is about 28 per cent greater if your payment is accompanied by a Gift Aid declaration: "I am a UK taxpayer and pay sufficient tax to cover my donation (currently 28 pence for every pound sterling I give). I wish St Alfege Church to recover the tax on this gift." You should then sign and date your declaration and write your full name and postal address on the same page; or
or by direct bank transfer (sterling only)
to the Greenwich branch of the NatWest bank. Sort code: 60-09-16; account no: 25249304
Please remember St Alfege Church in your Will

    Thank you

The St Alfege Parochial Church Council is a charity; its Treasurer is elected at the Annual General Meeting of parishioners, and the St Alfege accounts are published and independently examined.
